"My experience with Pilates has been extraordinary. I am excited about the progress you make in a very short period of time. To think Pilates was invented in the 1920's and has survived under those original guiding principles shows its power. I am more limber, stronger, thinner and happier since I have been doing Pilates. Taylor is a Master Instructor, her form, coaching and enthusiasm has made this fun to learn and injury free. I recommend Pilates and Taylor to anyone who wants to feel better, look better and have a wonderful, positive new experience as part of their day or week." Michele (7 months Pilates strong!)

"I have been working with a personal trainer at the gym 2x a week for over 18 months and added Pilates, based on my trainer's recommendation, to augment my overall fitness routine. The physical transformation that occurred, since I added Pilates, was beyond my wildest expectations and quickly eclipsed the results I had achieved through weight training alone! In less than 7 months I've seen dramatic improvements in my core strength, flexibility and ability to manage stress. Not to mention that I now have a leaner physical appearance overall! Taylor's instruction is excellent and I attribute my transformation to her knowledge, expertise and her extensive training in the practice of Pilates." Suzanne (Pilates student since 7/2008)

"A year ago I mentioned to my doctor that I was interested in finding a Pilate's studio. Her reply: 'You must go see Taylor!' From the start, I loved the diversity of InnerPeace. The students range in age and body-type and everyone is accepted for who they are. Taylor (think a petite J Lo) is warm and welcoming with an infectious laugh. Not only does she make Pilates fun, she challenges me to try things that I never thought I would be able to do. We spend so much time doing for others, Pilates is something I do for me. It is therapy for both your mind and body! "
Debby (Pilates Diva since 3/2008)

Instructor Bio's

Taylor Abitua

Taylor Abitua, Owner, Senior Pilates Instructor, PMA Member, Core Dynamics Certified Pilates Instructor, MPI Regional Mentor, Certified ZUMBA® Instructor, Certified ZUMBA® Gold Instructor

At the young age of 14, during her pre-professional ballet career, Taylor realized her love for Pilates while undergoing rehabilitation. The understanding and enjoyment of the movements she had experienced in ballet enhanced her passion for Pilates and the desire to help others experience the same enjoyment.

Graduating from the Core Dynamics Teacher Training Program, based in Sante Fe, New Mexico, Taylor received her Full Mat And Equipment Pilates Certification. Core Dynamics, designed by Michele Larsson, teaches the historical Pilates Method, as taught by Eve Gentry (a master teacher who was also taught by Joseph Pilates himself). This extensive program is based on sound, bio-mechanical movement principles which teaches how to work with clients as individuals rather than teaching a class as a whole.

Devoting several years to her mentor Margarette Raymond, of Position Red in Chicago, Taylor refined her skills through extensive training. While teaching in Chicago, Taylor worked with a wide variety of clients, and attended and assisted in many workshops, all the while building upon her experience in the proper method of Pilates.

Continuing her eduction and love for Pilates Taylor became a Midwest Pilates Institute Regional Mentor. The Midwest Pilates Institute offers the most comprehensive Pilates teacher training in the Midwest. Their “hands-on” approach to teaching the Pilates Method allows the student to develop and grow at their own pace while offering on going support and feedback. Students work side by side Marissa Lins and other Midwest Pilates Institute teacher trainers, such as Taylor, to ensure an educationally rich and safe environment to learn, workout, and study. Taylor thoroughly enjoys working with Marissa and looks forward to her future with the Midwest Pilates Institute.

Laurenn Baker

Laurenn Campos, Senior Instructor, PMA Student, Certified ZUMBA® Instructor

Laurenn got started at InnerPeace after moving to the area and wanting to continue in her Pilates practice. Laurenn is an avid volleyball player and is looking forward to working with athletes who will use Pilates as a part of their training regime. Laurenn is most interested in learning to teach the classical Pilates method for pre and post natal care. She is excited to have the opportunity to go through her PositonRed Pilates teacher training with Taylor.
